Skipping important steps in the name of "efficiency"

๐—œ ๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐˜ ๐—ฒ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐˜†.


Like, to a point that Iโ€™ll sometimes (read: often) justify not doing the really meaningful, needed inner work before getting started in my work day because all I can think about is the time Iโ€™m spending doing that when I could be doing some other โ€œmoney making taskโ€.


๐™Ž๐™ฅ๐™ค๐™ž๐™ก๐™š๐™ง ๐™–๐™ก๐™š๐™ง๐™ฉ: ๐™’๐™๐™š๐™ฃ ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช ๐™–๐™ง๐™š ๐™ž๐™ฃ ๐™›๐™ช๐™ก๐™ก ๐™–๐™ก๐™ž๐™œ๐™ฃ๐™ข๐™š๐™ฃ๐™ฉ, ๐™ฉ๐™๐™š๐™ฎ ๐™–๐™ง๐™š ๐˜ผ๐™‡๐™‡ ๐™ข๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ฎ ๐™ข๐™–๐™ ๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ฉ๐™–๐™จ๐™ ๐™จ.


In any case, I wanted to share a bit of my experience this morning in hopes it inspires someone else to ๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ญ๐˜ญ ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ณ ๐˜ค๐˜ถ๐˜ฑ ๐˜ง๐˜ช๐˜ณ๐˜ด๐˜ต.ย

Even if youโ€™re like me and your entire goal in making money is to give it all away, you (read: I) have to realize that you are no good to anyone depleted.ย 


You have to be the best version of you to maximize what you are able to do for others. Period.ย 


I digress...ย 


I started a new journaling practice a few months ago.ย 


Anyone who has known me for more than five minutes knows that I try live in a constant state of gratitude, so doing a daily gratitude journal came naturally to me, but anything outside of that is usually a hard eye roll for me, but my coach said to do it, so Iโ€™m in. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ


The practice starts with first listing out 10 wants and desires, writing them out as full sentences and then re-writing them out in the present tense as if you have already received these blessings from the universe.ย 


The goal here is to go ahead and get into the mindset of what the best version of you looks like; to start acting like that person TODAY.ย 


So of course, me being the efficiency queen that I am, I intentionally found ways of writing my original statements so that I could just mark out a portion of the sentence and replace it with โ€œAMโ€ or โ€œHAVEโ€ and just re-read them to myself and meditate on THOSE feelings.


But what I found in this practice this morning went even deeper than I was expecting.ย 


As I was going back through my sentences, what I realized is that there was rarely ever even a need to add anything at all. ๐Ÿคฏ


โ€œI want to honor my time.โ€ became


โ€œI wฬทaฬทnฬทtฬท ฬทtฬทoฬท ฬท honor my time.โ€


โ€œ๐—œ ๐—›๐—ข๐—ก๐—ข๐—ฅ ๐— ๐—ฌ ๐—ง๐—œ๐— ๐—˜.โ€ย 


โ€œI want to have meaningful boundaries.โ€ is nowย 


โ€œI wฬทaฬทnฬทtฬท ฬทtฬทoฬท ฬทhฬทaฬทvฬทeฬท meaningful boundaries.โ€


โ€œ๐—œ ๐—›๐—”๐—ฉ๐—˜ ๐— ๐—˜๐—”๐—ก๐—œ๐—ก๐—š๐—™๐—จ๐—Ÿ ๐—•๐—ข๐—จ๐—ก๐——๐—”๐—ฅ๐—œ๐—˜๐—ฆ.โ€


Which got me thinking...
