I've taught our kids a lot of bad habits (accidently)

I’m learning and growing daily, but especially now, we’re teaching them something ALL. THE. TIME.

The catch is: They learn so much more from watching us, from paying attention to our actions than they do from the things we tell them we want them to know.

So, if you’re starting to notice your kids picking up some less than desirable habits from you, FIX THEM.

If it bothers you that they’re doing the things you do, teach them the right way.

Trust me, I understand how hard it can be. My daughter overreacts about everything and a huge part of that is the fact that for a period of time, DK and I were getting on to her for every little thing because we felt like she should have known better after all the times we’d reminded her calmly.

But she’s a kid. So we had to take a step back and we had to take ACTION.   We had to first learn how to handle her mistakes with grace and then... we had to wait for months to see any sort of change in her behavior. It took us making the change in our behavior first.

The same goes for your financial situation. Take it from someone whose passion for finance was born at an early age that your kids are watching and they are picking up more than you think.

If you have a problem with overspending, they see that.

If you are struggling to save for retirement, they’ll pick up on that.

If you spend countless hours away from them at a job you hate to afford them the life they deserve, but you have nothing left over after bills and you honestly have no idea where the rest goes, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙖𝙧𝙚.

Sort out your money stuff so that your kids don’t repeat your patterns.
